Daisy

Jackie,
Daisy sends
a big hello! :o)
Where do I begin about Daisy? She has been so much more than we
expected!
It did take some time for me to adjust to her always being by my
side. But, in a short time, I learned to love that attention. She
has made it known that anything that belongs to Haylie also belongs
to her. From stuffed animals, to clothes, to Haylie's favorite
spoon, it has all magically made its way to Daisy's bed. And as for
Jason, he vows that he will never own another breed of dog. He still
wishes we could have brought Rusty home with us too.
The final member of our family, Buddy the Beagle, has found a
best friend. He has even found a way to get away from Daisy when
she chases him. He simply hides under a chair. Daisy is too tall
to fit! Buddy thinks he is as big as Daisy. They are such an odd
couple.
One thing that has surprised us is that Daisy is an exceptional
guard dog. A stranger does not pass our yard without a friendly
warning from Daisy. She definitely makes her presence known.
We have found it extremely difficult to discipline Haylie, who
is four (and a four year old needs lots of it!!) Daisy is quick
to position herself between us and Haylie. She pushes us out of
the way. Haylie is her special friend and no one will mess with
her! Anytime she hears Haylie cry or yell, she is there in
seconds to check on her. If Haylie is sitting down, Daisy will
position herself over her. We have no worries when it comes to
protection from Haylie. She does a good a job as Mom & Dad!
The only problem we have is keeping Daisy out of Haylie's room
when it is her bed time. The two want to play at night. Several
times, we have heard Haylie laughing early in the morning when
Daisy goes in to wake her up to play. Haylie LOVES it! Haylie
loves to tell anyone who will listen the story behind Daisy's
missing toe! And of course, that is an excuse for Daisy to soak
up attention! What a pair!
Everyone tells is that Daisy is lucky to have us, but we realize
we are lucky to have HER! From the day we brought her home to
"test drive" her for the weekend, we knew we would keep her. We
simply could not give her up.
Thank you again for all that you do for these dogs. If only
there were more people like you.
I have attached a pic of Haylie and Daisy. They both pose so
well! Both are camera hogs!! Feel free to use the picture on the
website or anywhere you like for advertisement!! We are
definitely proud to be part of the Greyhounds Galore family!!
Thanks again,
Amber Blurton
