Greyhounds Galore

Save a Life...Make a Friend

Chance

I got my 1st greyhound about 3 years ago. I knew from then on I was hooked, and that I wanted to get another one.  I met Jackie a couple of years ago when I turned over to her a greyhound that had come into the humane society I volunteer with. I must say, "that" dog (Jim) changed both our lives forever.

This summer I lost one of my most special dogs, I won't go into details, but I miss him dearly. My birthday is coming up this month, so my husband, Ken, as a surprise decided to adopt a greyhound for me. What a nice surprise!
So, of course we visited Jackie. Chance had just been returned to her, he had not worked out in his previous home for whatever reason. He just kept coming over to Ken & me saying "look at me, I'm the one." He just seemed to bond with us right there at the start. He's special and fun loving.

Chance gets along great with our other dogs (all 6 of them), loves running and playing in the yard, and lounging around the house. He fits in here just great. Jackie said "he's a handful" but maybe she just wanted to keep him herself, because he sure doesn't act like a handful. Or maybe my dogs are just not as well behaved as I thought, ha-ha.
I didn't go down there with any particular dog in mind, not color or male or female, just looking for a personality to match with my other dogs. Chance stood out above the crowd. Ironically, I've always wanted a brindle colored male. Chance is a brindle colored male. Doesn't God work in mysterious ways.

I'm very thankful that Chance chose us to be his family. And very thankful to Greyhounds Galore for giving Chance a chance. Jackie and everyone who helps her out are truly a blessing from God.
